Easier on The Body

HAR-TRU courts are easier on the body than other types of courts. There is less strain on the back, legs, and ankles than asphalt/hard courts. HAR-TRU is flexible, allowing a player to slide and recover under control, instead of having to slam down onto the court, absorbing the shock in every joint in the body. Har-Tru surfaces allow sliding, which results in seven times fewer injuries than surfaces which do not.

Environmentally Friendly

Clay dries quickly and is environmentally safe. Unlike hard court surfaces, players can be on a clay court in a matter of minutes after a rain shower. Har-Tru is made up of natural, crushed, green stone, leaving no chemicals or toxic waste. Har-Tru absorbs water quickly, solves run-off control issues, and gets players back on the court for an exciting match.

Player Development

Players, especially junior players, develop a better, more well-rounded game. The slower speed of a clay courts allows a player to learn to construct a point and learn to play a better all court game. An analysis of the world’s top tennis players shows that most had extensive clay court training in their formative years. Clay court develops toughness, stamina, patience and strategy.

Vertical Court Geometry

The brilliance of the tennis grounds at the OBBT is the vertical & parallel court geometry! Players get a truly private and luxury feeling playing a match because there are no balls coming over to your court. The courts are stacked baseline to baseline with a fence separating each court as well as green space. No interference from stray balls so players get to stay in the flow of a match! This is unique to the OBBT and part of it magical appeal.
